"What a course, lovely fairways and greens well looked after best course I've played on in Wales so far and can't wait to play there again :)"

Testimonials

A Member of Werrnddu G.C in Abergavenny. A few of us came up for a round last weekend and given that it was October I thought the course was in great condition. Greens were a good speed, fairways cut nicely and well presented all round. A good mixture of holes that give you a different look on each tee shot. The day we played was tough with the wind howling in our faces for most of the round but we all enjoyed it regardless. We are coming up again this weekend to see if it plays any easier! One putt wishes!

Played Glynneath Golf club on 6/7/2012. Shane and Staff were really caring and looked after our society and made it a great day out despite the weather. The golf course is truly great. The greens and fairways are superb. I would recommend it to all standard of golfers. you must play this course whatever the weather. The food was great too.

I have been playing this course two or three times a year for approximately 12 years when visiting my in-laws in Merthyr Tydfil, and I have always been welcomed to play in whatever 'roll up' or 'fiddle' is taking place. Shane, the professional is always very welcoming and has a very friendly disposition. Why have I returned to Glyneath over and over again? Because it's a little jewel in such a lovely setting. On my last visit, (22 May 2012), the course was exceptional. Congratulations to the club and especially to the greenkeepers for the tremendous work carried out on the greens over the last few of years, it has certainly paid huge dividends. I played Glyn Neath Golf Course in July 2011. I was very impressed by the guy in the pro shop. He was very friendly and helpful. He organised a buggy in 2 mins flat and advised us on anything we needed to know. The course itself was in great condition. The Tee's were all neat and tidy and well laid out, not far from green to tee and were all well signposted. The holes are quite varied and some are very difficult but fair. The signature hole par 3 is a beauty. Uphill to an elavated green with a big bank at the back. If you score a par here then you have done really well. All the fairways were in excellent condition and the rough wasn't too thick. The fringes of the greens were well mowed and the greens themselves were fantastic. The clubhouse is friendly and the bacon butties are very good. Fantastic views from every tee of the hills around the course. Definatley a course I would play again and again. Going back there on Monday 1st August with the wife. I would recommend this course to anybody. Well done to everyone at the club for making my visit there a day to remember.

Took advantage of the special deal put on by the Golf Club, two players and a buggy for £25, and we were not disappointed. A warm welcome from the Pro, an enjoyable round of golf in the sunshine, the comfort of a buggy and an excellent bar snack at the end of the day. The new steward and stewardess, Andrew and Sheila, could not be more helpful and provided us with excellent service and delicious meals. Enjoyed the experience so much that we will be back for more. Thanks to all concerned, greatly appreciated.

Had my first round at Glyn Neath GC last week and it wont be my last. From arriving to leaving it was a first class experience, the staff where friendly, very welcoming and helpfull, all the members I met around the course where also welcoming and willing to give good advice on the course. The course itself was a treat, a mixture of par 3,4 and 5s, each having its own character, this course gives you a a chance to use every club in the bag. Looking forward to my next visit, thanks all

I last played at Royal Glynneath when it was a 9 hole course, it was enjoyable then, but what a great experiance it was to play 18 holes last week. I had a great time and would like to thank all those who helped me to make it so. Particular thanks to Tony Pegge who displayed extream patience combined with tutorial skills. My sincere thanks also to the Professional.

We at Hendy RFC Golf Society visited Glynneath Golf Club recently and we have to say that we received an excellent welcome from Shane and all the staff there. The course was in great condition and provided a fair challenge and accuracy was the order of the day. The setting overlooking the beautiful Neath valley truly is something to behold. After the golf, we were treated to some delicious freshly prepared food. There was a good choice from the menu and indeed, the food was some of the best we have ever had. Worth a visit? Definitely! I had a wonderful round at Glynneath GC this October, playing with my brother who is an former club champion there. It was the first time I have played the new layout and it was fantastic, we had a great time. Having first seen the club many years ago when it was a 9 hole course I must say it is a belter of a course now. We had wonderful weather which allowed beautiful views down the Neath valley. Well done Glynneath and thanks for a friendly welcome and a great days golf.

Having booked to play two rounds at Celtic Manor and having been rained off , our golfing holiday was all but ruined, determined to play golf we happened across Glynneath, What an absolute treat it was, despite wet conditions, the course was great fun to play with some excllent holes and a great welcome from the staff. We liked it so much we are coming back to the South in a few weeks and this course was the first on our list . The word hidden gem was never more fitting
