Glynneath Golf Club is a welcoming, modern club with a proud history. To help promote a positive playing experience for all, we ask that members, visitors and guests maintain a reasonable standard of dress on the course.
Club staff are here to help — not penalise — and will always handle any dress code conversation with courtesy and discretion.
The Standard
The guideline is that any recognised golf attire, or clothing bearing a very similar appearance and standard, is acceptable on the course. In practice, this means clothing that is neat, clean, and appropriate for the game.
The examples below are intended as guidance, not an exhaustive list.
Clearly Not Acceptable
The following are examples of attire that would not meet the standard and should not be worn on the course:
Tops
✗ Football, rugby, or sports team shirts
✗ Plain t-shirts, vests, and collarless shirts
✗ Standard hooded sweatshirts not designed for golf
Bottoms
✗ Tracksuit bottoms and jogging pants
✗ Denim jeans
✗ Beach shorts and overly casual shorts
Footwear
✗ Trainers, work boots, or fashion footwear not suitable for golf
✗ Flip flops, sandals, or sliders
A Note on Shorts
Tailored shorts and smart cargo-style shorts are acceptable provided they present a neat and appropriate appearance.
Enforcement
All members and visitors to the Club are asked to make every effort to comply with the dress code outlined above. Where attire does not meet the expected standard, access to the course may be declined. Our staff are always on hand to answer any questions or provide clarification if required.
If you have any questions, please speak to any member of the club team — we're always happy to help.
